Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!  We welcome you and thank you for checking out our church website.  We hope you find this site informative and uplifting and that you come back often to check out what’s going on at Pentecost!

Our church was founded on May 31, 1908, which was Pentecost Sunday that year.  Accordingly, our very first members chose the name “Soslaine Ducha Svateho,” which translated means “Descending of the Holy Spirit” or “Pentecost.” The original members of Pentecost were Slovak immigrants who wanted a church which spoke their native language.  In 1920, the congregation joined the Slovak Evangelical Lutheran Synod (later named Synod of Evangelical Lutheran Churches) and remained there until merging with the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod in 1971 as part of a non-geographical district known as the S.E.L.C. (Showing Everyone Life in Christ by Showing Everyone the Love of Christ)

Our church mission statement says a lot about who we are and what we do…

As forgiven children of God, we, the Pentecost family of faith, are committed to showing everyone life in Christ by…

Providing individuals opportunities to grow in their faith
Living our Faith and worshiping together as brothers and sisters in Christ
Calling others in our community and the world through the Holy Spirit into a personal relationship with God.

We are currently under vacancy.  Pastors assisting during our vacancy are:

Rev. Brady Retzlaff (Living Hope Lutheran Church) & Rev. Karl Luchterhand
